The Smelting Expert System of WISCO Automatization Blast Furnace
 

Blast furnace expert technique is the on-line blast furnace smelting computer control technique based on human intelligence, which can solve the control problem in the very complex blast furnace smelting process.

System Functions

Blast furnace expert technique, through collecting various kinds of process information of blast furnace, in combining with blast furnace operation expert knowledge stored in the process computer databank, conducts real time on-line conclusion for the blast furnace operation situation, and gives out the operation guidance, enabling the operator to timely adopt correct relief measures to reach the objective of the stable furnace conditions, enhance the productivity, reduce accidents and lower the coke ratio.

Main functions of blast furnace expert technique include:

  1. Blast furnace heat level control
  2. Forecast and prevention of abnormal furnace conditions
  3. Handling of abnormal furnace conditions
 

Blast furnace expert technique gives the proposed act quantity and conclusion process by the expert in the mode of trend drawing and graphics and words, through the operation of WISCO No. 1 and No. 4 blast furnaces for many years, blast furnace expert technique can forecast the following various kinds of phenomena:

  • The possibility and disappearance of occurring material slide, can forecast the material slide 0.5h or so ahead of the time.
  • The formation and falling of residue at the middle and lower part of the shell, can forecast the influence of residue scale on the furnace temperature 5 – 6h ahead of the time.
  • The change situation of the blast furnace pressure difference.
  • The change of the blast furnace heat state, can forecast the silicon content in molten iron and temperature of molten iron in the next furnace time 2 – 3h ahead of the time, the accuracy forecast rate for the silicon content within ±0.05% shall reach 89.75%.
  • Abnormal conditions of blast furnace.
  • Change situation of air flow distribution.
  • Evaluation of the furnace working state of the blast furnace.
  • Change situation of furnace wall heat load.
