Special Composite Gauge Head for Sub-lance SLS-TSC-S carries three functions i.e. temperature measurement, sampling and carbon determination. It is used for the computer process control of converters. By virtue of the converter static control model, the necessary blowing timeis worked out so as to enable the sub-lance to immerge in the liquid steel of the converter around 2 minutes prior the end of the blowing for measuring its temperature and its freezing point. The Special Composite Gauge Head inside Sub-lance SLS-TSC-S takes a quick and accurate measurement and sends the observed values to the process computer for data processing. With obtained carbon content from the computer, the static model is modified, thus to adapted to a dynamic control. The vantage shows in the shortened tapping time and improved hit rate. Moreover, with its smart structure design, this gauge head works also asa liquid steel samplerwith perfect purity required bythe on-site analysis lab.
